Silent Night

As we celebrate with friends and family the Christmas Holiday. Let us take a minute and remember the reason for the season. Take a break from the chaos and strife of the world and celebrate the Birth of the savior of the world and your soul. Leave the worries and problems of everyday life and find joy in fellowship with your family and friends. Merry Christmas and let not your heart be troubled for unto us this day a savior is born!

Being the Master of you… sort of!

No man can serve two masters. However man being easily manipulated will try. We as humans need to learn that narrow is the path and straight is the way. We cannot continue to try and fit our choices to the needs of an overreaching bureaucracy. If we are just and upright individuals we must make our own decisions and stand fast with the choice. People feel the need to fit in, be accepted. We must regain our own identity and serve ourselves as the master of us. We have dominion over our choices. We also seek guidance from a higher power, whom through an excellent sense of humor gave us free will. The duplicitous nature of an individual with free will is to think that they have all the answers, while struggling to gain knowledge. We are a fickle species in that we know what to do and fail to do what is required. Make a choice serve yourself and the mob, or acknowledge that there can only be one master. Good or evil the choice is yours! Don’t be wavering in your decision serve the master that serves your best interest and peace of mind.

Lynyrd Skynyrd

The bands that influence me the most are those with a real message. The ability to emote and convey a message in the lyrics and melody of a song is truly a gift. When I was in my youth the band Lynyrd Skynyrd showed me the ways of the world. Growing up in the South and seeing the gradual change from a rural to modern society they helped me cope. Songs about the world and the way it was devolving were instrumental in shaping my need for information and need to communicate my ideas and thoughts. As we start to slow down for the weekend pour a fine bourbon in a glass and find a Skynyrd song. Listen to the messages and feel the emotion. Rest In Peace boys and thanks for the education!

After a gunfight at a creek, between Wyatt Earp and the Cowboys, Doc Holliday weak and coughing was asked why he was there? He stated that Wyatt Earp was his friend. The inquisitor stated he had lots of friends, to which Holliday replied I Don’t! I have many acquaintances very few friends. If we were to count dogs I would have a million. People however I have few. Some are lifelong and some are newly acquired. However some are so important they engage in a conversation so easily that it seems they are always there. My best friend and I have a bond that at times seems as if our psyche is intertwined, need arises, feelings are hurt or just plain stressed out, text appears or phone will ring. No need to reach out just a disturbance of the aura and we both know. Friends are very important but not just anyone makes the cut. I do not have friends for their benefit to me or because they are popular. I have few friends and these are people who are of a character and intellect that makes my day better. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. If you have a friend reach out and just say hi.

Stand Idly By

All it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to stand idly by. What provocation will it take for the good men to take action? Why have they stood and watched the evil continually accelerate? Hard times breed hard men and easy times breed soft men. We are almost aged out of hard men. They have waited until the Americans became old men. We must teach the children the importance of freedom and the necessity of being pro active against the assault on our liberty. We can no longer stand idly by!!

A Republic

At the close of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, Franklin was queried as he left Independence Hall on the final day of deliberation. In the notes of Dr. James McHenry, one of Maryland’s delegates to the Convention, a lady asked Dr. Franklin “Well Doctor what have we got, a republic or a monarchy.” Franklin replied, “A republic . . . if you can keep it.” We have begun the downfall of all republics. We have lost our identity. Dwell long on the brevity of that response. If you can keep it. Deep words from a profound man. We have lost it.

Buddy Check

Tomorrow is 20 years since the attack on America. If you are like me and had friends involved in this incident on 9-11 check in tomorrow. As these incidents are replayed over and over again strong emotions can be triggered which have been repressed. On top of 9-11 we have the abandonment of American citizens in Afghanistan by this current moronic government. Do a buddy check, invite them for some quiet meditation over a drink of fine bourbon. Be safe tomorrow as always, no one knows what the new day may bring! Always remember the fallen of 9-11 and the unity that existed on 9-12!

Sleep Tight

Sleep tight in your abode
Rest easy as a freeman
Come the morrow no matter what tales told
I will always be a freeman

If man had granted my rights
If not the God above
Then my rest would be filled with fright
My rights are not given but granted by love

Each one of us unique
Each equal with the others
Each above critique
From a government that smothers

Sleep tight in your abode
Rest easy as a freeman
Come the morrow no matter what tales are told
I will always be a freeman

Steve Earl was a prophet

While I disagree with Mr Earls political views, his music is awesome. He foretold what was to be today in the 80’s. He also has a mastery of the American vernacular. Simple words of truth are more powerful than linguistic obtuse verbiage. I will leave with this Steve Earl jewel: Just cause you ain’t paranoid, doesn’t mean they ain’t out to get you! Good Night!
